It’s do-or-die time:  The House Judiciary Committee will likely pass the Stop Online Piracy Act THIS Thursday. Once the bill moves out of committee, the House can pass it at any time. BUT, if we’re able to kill it at this stage it’ll probably never recover.

Do you live in the US?
Please be part of the effort: Click the link below to call or email your member of the House of Reps right away.  We need to flood them with contacts well before the vote this week. http://go.c4m.me/americancensorship

If you don’t live in the US (and also for US citizens)
Vote aginst ACTA! The EU is now the last hope to stop the dangerous international intellectual property treaty, the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement. ACTA will destroy the openness of the internet and threatens free speech online by forcing websites and ISPs to watch and track our every move, all in the name of copyright protection. People say…
“SOPA, regrettably, represents a big step backward in Washington’s efforts to support the digital revolution, one of the only sectors of the economy that continues to grow.â€
Larry Downes (TechFreedom)

“These bills were written by the content industry without any input from the technology industry. And they are trying to fast track them through congress and into law without any negotiation with the technology industry.â€
Fred Wilson (Union Square Ventures)

“[SOPA would] overturn the long-accepted principles and practices [of the DMCA] in favor of a one-sided enforcement mechanism that is far more broad than existing law while not attempting to protect the rights of anyone accused of copyright infringement.â€
Gigi B. Sohn (President of Public Knowledge)
