Reporters Without Borders – International organization monitoring freedom of press (Intro. + rss feed)

Reporters Without Borders is a non-profit organization registered in France and has consultant status at the United Nations. Won the ‘Freedom of Thought’ European Parliament’s Sakharov Prize In 2005.

The organisation’s publications are available online in five languages (Arabic, English, French, Spanish and Persian) . On their site we find publications, press releases and a daily-updated list of journalists killed or imprisoned around the world including detailed reports on special cases. The public is invited to sign online petitions for the release of jailed journalists.

Reporters Without Borders stages several annual events to highlight the issue of press freedom.
